ZK and Rebecca Tie the Knot....Cashiers, NC
Life with a 16 month old sure does change the pace of travel! We have been on the go this month and of course, we take it in stride and enjoy the "new" way of traveling/sleeping/having to be home early, etc. We started out this month in Cashiers NC for Zach Kennedy's wedding. Zach married a lovely gal from Atlanta named Rebecca (nice name!). Their wedding was picture perfect. Lonesome Valley is a gorgeous location with a back drop that needs nothing added to make it stunning. We drove in on Friday and stayed a great little place called Pebble Creek Villas. It was basically a souped up hotel room but we had a nice patio to sit on while Drew napped or when he went to bed. Beth and Michael (and Baby Baker) drove up later that night and scooped me up to go to the "After-Rehearsal-Dinner-Party".....i don't know why I'm blanking on what they called it but that seems like a long and unnecessary name for it. Either way, it was fun and beautiful. Saturday, David, Drew and I drove around to see some of the waterfalls before heading into Highlands to have lunch with Beth, Michael, Beth's aunt and grandma. Highlands is a great little town and we enjoyed shopping around and having lunch with some special people. We let Drew nap later that day hoping that he would last at the wedding and he did so well!! Made it to 9pm (which, if you know Drew, you know that is LATE for him). David took him back and let me stay and play with my old friends. Zach, Jake, Gil, Beth and families....at one point (ZK excluded), we were all sitting around a table DRINKING COFFEE and reminiscing. When did we get so damn old??!? We finished the reception with some fun dancing and we took our old selves back to our rooms close to midnight. Sunday we met everyone again for breakfast at the High Hampton Inn and Country Club. Such a good weekend with old friends. David and I also met an old friend of his (and his cute family) for lunch a couple hours later. The Etheridges live in Asheville and we were so thankful to have the chance to hang with them for a while. After the 6+ hour drive home, we were happy to get our kid back in his own bed!
