Out with 11 and in with 12....

New Year's Eve is a special day for a couple reasons.  For starters, it is David's birthday.  Second, it's NYE and that always means a good time.   We started out the day at the farm where the dogs got to run around, David worked on a few projects and poor Maddie had to get a haircut.  After that, we went to McAlisters for lunch and the Kangaroo Pouch to use some coupons that were expiring that day.  We got home and I hung out around the house and David went back out to the farm later to hunt.  As for our actual NYE plans for hte night.....We just weren't sure what we wanted to do vs. what we SHOULD do.  I mean, I am 8.5 months pregnant and don't really belong in a bar after midnight with a bunch of people who can still hang.  We tossed around a few ideas and settled on a generous invitation from Shane & Bekah to join them and mama Dawn at Sunset Beach for dinner, birthday cake (surrounded by sweet 16 doughnuts) and some laid back fire-side sitting outside on the waterway.  We actually made it to ring in the new year and left shortly after to hit the hay.  On New Year's Day, we woke up feeling great, met Shelburne & Liz for breakfast at The Shack and came back to the house to do some cleaning up.  Our spare bedroom was a WRECK and we got it all cleaned up for whoever might want to come and stay when the baby is here.  Around lunch, we were invited back over to the Wallace beach house for our fill of black eyed peas, collard greens, boston butt & cornbread.  It was a beautiful day for sitting on the porch, hanging out with great people.  We left there to come back home where I proceeded to look for Cooper River Bridge Run houses, take a nap and do....nothing.  David went hunting.  A little leftovers for dinner and a movie and that rounds out our New Year's Day.

2011 was a good year but great things will happen in 2012.  For starters, we'll welcome a little Fort.  That isn't too far away and things will fall into place as they should after that.  Here's to a great 2011 and an even better 2012!
